Elliptic Curves and Functions

An introduction in the theory of elliptic functions and elliptic curves. Both are a priori different mathematical subjects. However, there is a fascinating connection between elliptic curves and elliptic functions, which is a great example to show the beautiness of mathematics. This book also contains information about applications in number theory and some recent results as well as still open questions, like the conjecture of Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer.
